Senior Services Mission Statement:
To promote the physical, emotional, and economic well-being of older adults and to promote their participation is all aspects of community life.
Senior Services Purpose:
- To help older persons live independently in the living situation of their choice as long as possible.
- To ensure that all older persons in Fillmore County have access to social, educational, and recreational programs that will enhance their independence.
- To develop new programs and services for older persons where there is a need.
- To provide coordination and technical assistance to senior centers and senior organizations in the county.
Fillmore County Senior Services strives to meet the needs of any older adult age 60 and over who reside in Fillmore County. We are available for appointments and will make home visits with families and residents of the county if requested. We offer a variety of services to our aging population.
Brenda Motis serves as the Director of the Senior Services Department, Rhonda Stokebrand is the care manager and Shirley Kamler serves as our Outreach Coordinator. Brenda, Rhonda and Shirley are all trained as certified SHIP counselors through the State Health Insurance Program. This is a division of the Nebraska State Department of Insurance. We are able to assist Medicare beneficiaries with a variety of Medicare related questions and issues. We also assist people with general questions regarding social security and their benefits.
Fillmore County Senior Services is a department within the County organization and also is affiliated with our regional Area Agency on Aging- Aging Partners located in Lincoln.
We would be happy to conduct presentations about our services to any group or organization within Fillmore County. We are available for day or evening presentations.
Fillmore County Senior Services is jointly sponsored by County, State and Federal Funds made available through the Fillmore County Board of Supervisors and Aging Partners. Contributions for services and donations also help to support the County Program.
